This Federal Mirror dates to 1790's to 1820's Convex Mirror Exhibits masterfully tooled carving and rich Gilded detailing of the highest order a timeless image of power and victory.
The mirrors of this calibre were made only by the most talented and respected cabinet makers due to the experience, value and rarity of this quality glass mirrors. Convex mirrors of the exceptional quality and workmanship's observed in this example of possessing all of its original gliding. The back has been recover sometime over the period of years with paper- a small tip on the wing is missing. This was the first true surveillance mirror, was use to see who came in the room when a person had his back to the door, Also the servants could see if the Master need his glass filled. the mirror is in very good condition. This is a rare find.
